I WISH:

Idea to write flows like waterfall

My toilet gets makeover

My Malay Language proficiency gets better (I lost the literature skill nowadays, thus, more reading of Malay literature I need)

My room is pink

Finish off my degree immediately and settle down with the one

More people who have heart and mercy

My assignments will be finished before due date, without any stress and sleepless nights

My body’s immune gets better

Lose some weight

Malaysians will be more courteous

Malaysian public transport improves in sense of capacity for its users

World peace!!

*Life is a great trial. I wonder how long will I live, and how many obstacles do I need to go through. Will I get the chance to carry out the responsibilities (as human)? Will I be able to serve to the almighty God righteously?

Hope and wish. There are so many wishes and hopes in this world. I know it’s not just me. Everyone aims for improvement for their life quality. Hopes motivate and drive us for the next day. Love heals the pain. Time decides. We move on. We live. To the fullest.

The highway not taken

(A modern version after Robert Frost’s)

Two lanes diverged in a PLUS highway
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one driver, numb my foot
And looked in front as far as I could
To where it goes at the exit.

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was bright and more cars;
Though as for that the passing there
Had sworn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no tyre had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two highways diverged in Malaysia, and I–
I took the one less travelled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Life as a story

THE CHARACTERS

Our fateful life is a story as the great Shakespeare puts it “Life’s a stage and all men and women are merely players”. Whether you hate or love literature, life is a literature. We are the director, the actor and the entire production team. Our dream is our inspiration to write a great script. We can choose to be a minor or major character. A hero or villain. We can choose to be Derek Sheperd or Prince Charming. We can be a lonely loser in the street, trying to find five cents coin, instead of making good dollars by working. And not to forget, in our life, we always meet with new character, which gives a fresh beginning or tribulations to the plot, or a meaningless character which dies in the middle or at the end. We can be whatever we want to be, and choose to have a great or mundane story because it is the people who move the story.

THE PLOT

A great story requires a great plot or script, which means it comes from a great writer. A great story is what we expect to see, when we pay our cinema ticket. If you want your life story to be remembered after people coming out of the cinema, you need to give an impact. A change of perception perhaps. Is it worth for the next five months after you get out of your cinema seat, and remember what had Erra Fazira wore for this and that scene? Life’s like that. Go for a great plot instead of fancy costume. People don’t remember you, for your fashion sense, but your deeds and lines. Because why? Fashion is quickly outdated and it keeps on having new design and line every day. Have you ever heard the say “that is soooo last season”?

THE ENDING

Story without an ending, is never a story. Even the novel “The neverending story” has ending. Obviously different stories have different endings. Fairy tales usually have happily-ever-after ending, but have we ever live a fairy-tale life? We can choose to end our story with great impact, or live it hanging, unresolved. Great story gives a satisfying sigh when the cinema lights switched on. When the audience left the cinema, they will remember the ending of the story. They will remember how great it is, and tell to other people about it. It’s the choice of the director, that is us, to give a great ending to our life story.

We choose what we want to be

We choose our line

We choose our clothes

We choose our crew (friends)

We choose our ending.

It’s our choice to have a great story or not.

5th of November

Oh, D day is nearer. Today is already fifth of November. Anyone remember?

(Bonfire and the cold night will make the autumn happier)

Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, t’was his intent
To blow up King and Parliament.
Three-score barrels of powder below
To prove old England’s overthrow;
By God’s providence he was catch’d
With a dark lantern and burning match.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, let the bells ring.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King!

Best Ramadhan ever.

Pagi ini, walaupun belum lagi syuruk, saya nampak sunshine dalam hati. Pelangi tujuh warna. Arnab lompat-lompat. Daineso berjalan dengan rama-rama. Wombat lari-lari. (Saya suka perumpamaan ni. Terima kasih kepada Aini Shamsi dan Azwan)

Walaupun blur² masa bangun sahur. Walaupun elaun tak masuk lagi. Walaupun bil telefon Greendog belum bayar. Walaupun ada a few bumps in my life. Walaupun rasa dah tak larat nak buat dissertation. Walaupun mengantuk semasa terawih. Tapi, this is the best Ramadhan ever 😀

Today, the sun is shining happily ladies and gentlemen.

An exciting story of Ramadhan

Today, in Steve Ansell‘s class, we had total fun. So what we did today in class was, we produced a story.

  1. As a group (9 people in a circle table), we need to produce an agreeable title. We chose ‘an exciting story of Ramadhan.
  2. Then we need to produce an agreeable first line. So the line is ‘Ramadhan comes again’. So it’s ambiguous as Ramadhan can be the month or a person.
  3. Then, individually, we need to continue the sentence. Not more than 15 words, in 30 seconds (but to be precise it’s 1 minute).
  4. Then, clockwise turn, we need to exchange the paper. Continue to write the next sentence, based on previous sentence.
  5. As there are 9 people, the paper was written by 9 authors, 9 times.
  6. When the paper reached the original author, the original author needed to read the whole story, and gave a sensible (or crazy) ending to the story in about 30 words.
  7. Next, we were grouped into smaller groups (from 3 big groups to 8 small groups). We need to share the story with others, and pick the best story.

So, here’s my paper after been scraped by my friend (different colours means different author):

Ramadhan comes again. I am very excited about it as I’ve been waiting for it for eleven months. I am so happy. I hope this Ramadhan is going to be better than the last one. But, it turns out to be the best Ramadhan I ever had. I plan to have breakfast with my close friends and Mak Ucu. But Mak Ucu has just informed me that she is going to break fast with Datuk K alone. “Why?” shouts, cries me. After I get myself together, I realised that Mak Ucu is Datuk K’s wife. Why? Mak Ucu? Why? Compared to others, I prefer Mak Ucu. She can help me with raya preparation. Moreover, Mak Ucu has an estimated assets worth 20 millions. This is the best Ramadhan ever.

Sure or not??

I am not sure whether I do it right

I am not sure whether this is what I want to fight

I am not sure if this will make me happy

I am not sure whether it will be the ending of my story

I am not so sure

I am blur.

I read tinkerbell’s piece and it touches my heart.

So, happiness comes to those who are seeking for it. Let’s heal our heart.
