What I learned from cricket coaching course?

I am talking about cricket the game, not the insect. So, I had 4 days of cricket course from MCA, in my beloved IPBA college. Would like to share you a bit of joke. The coaches are Indians, so they told us about the joke when people ask them where they are from, and then they answered “I am from MCA” and the person who asked looked at him from top to toe. Since MCA is famous acronym for Malaysian Chinese Association, and they are Indians. Lulz. So yeah. MCA in this context is Malaysian Cricket Association.

QDB.us: truth vs lie

[we were talking about Lingam’s case]

ainee: sayang, do u remember the quote that u gave me
Omar Khayam: what quote
Omar Khayam: ?
ainee: yg turth ispreferable
Omar Khayam: yeah, truth is preferable to lies
ainee: that’s the one
ainee: but we tend to prefer lie
ainee: coz truth hurts
Omar Khayam: truth is painful
Omar Khayam: but lies provide temporary comfort
Omar Khayam: while it eats u from the inside
ainee: and the tongue that says true words is not preferable?
ainee: the tongue that says true words is not favorable?
Omar Khayam: it’s natural for us not to like pain
ainee: yeah
ainee: pain is painful
Omar Khayam: pain is often detested
Omar Khayam: yeah
Omar Khayam:
Omar Khayam: to put it simply, pain is never welcomed
ainee: so lie wins then.
Omar Khayam: take it like this
Omar Khayam: the brave chooses the truth
Omar Khayam: the cowards opt for lies
ainee: now that’s what i call good quotation.
ainee: like rasulullah said “berkata benarlah walaupun ia pahit”
Omar Khayam: yeah
ainee: he encouraged us to be brave then.
Omar Khayam: great minds think alike, hmm?

Don’t forget to read Alin’s piece as well. Malas nk cross entry. Sepah lak nanti. Hikhik.

PS: All the orang putih names mentioned are renowned authors in TEYL (teaching english to young learners). Their quotations are widely used in our assignments.

Of adolescence

AT THE BEGINNING:

There comes a point in your life, when you’re officially an adult. Suddenly, you’re old enough to vote, drink and engage in other adult activities. Suddenly, people expect you to be responsible, serious, a grown-up. We get taller, we get older. But do we ever really grow up?

AND IN THE END

In some ways we grow up; we have families… we get married, divorced… but for the most part we still have the same problems that we did when we were fifteen. No matter how much we grow taller, grow older, we are still forever stumbling… forever wondering, forever… young.
