Fixing Malaysians

I went to Danga City Mall with my fiancé. He was very hungry because he hadn’t eaten for a day. So we decided to eat at Adib’s Kitchen, located at Danga City Mall’s food court.

We sat next to the restaurant’s banner. (Such a shame I didn’t bring my pink T20 that time). So we’ve  had LOL moments, seeing amusing spelling mistakes such as:

  • Pamesan cheese
  • Site dishes (site=tapak?)
  • Grill tomato
  • Western foods
  • Discounts for tenents and all staff
  • The winner of all dishes, Coaslow salad.

We had fun game, searching for spelling and grammar mistakes. Then we wrote the right spelling and gave it to the owner. I bet there are quite a number of people going to the restaurant and notice the spelling mistakes. However, we pay no attention to rectify it.

We can’t only laugh. We need to do something so that the mistake won’t be repeated again. Let us have the courage to rectify people’s mistakes. Not being a coward, only know how to kutuk belakang. Let us improve ourselves and this country.

Ujian HIV 2

My fiance had gone to almost ALL hospitals and Klinik Kesihatan in JB. He is running around to see his clients, meeting errands, not having time to do all these long-time procedures and he finally had his HIV test on Friday. He started his Amazing Race to-get-HIV-test-for-the-sake-of-marrying-me on Monday (28th September 2009) until Friday October 3rd. Pity him. I feel guilty taking his whole Sunday, doing shopping in Singapore. Huu (T_T)

Yesterday, when I went to Hospital Sultanah Aminah to get follow up treatment, and he wants to get HIV test (killing two birds with one stone), the staff said “All the test kit for HIV test in JB is out”.

What? Why? So the staff told him to get it from Hospital Abdul Samad. Hmm. I thought the Minister of Transportation said “We try to cut queues at the highway toll. Each person spends about 20 minutes waiting. If there are 1000 people, there will be 20 thousand minutes wasted”

The Health Ministry should have done the same as well. Trying to cut queues and serve people better. But yeah, I don’t know what’s the problem. We have talented specialists, yet we are lacking behind in hygiene and furthermore, sex education.

I hate drugs

I’ve been sick for quite while. I took various types of drugs and I have to survive in school and my life. I promise myself to get better. But actually it got worse.

I took piriton around 1am because I was feeling sick. Not wanting a flu during raya season, I took another during sahur, around 5am. The gap time was about 4 hours.

Then I had back to sleep. It’s medical label already said that the drug is going to cause sleepiness. I should not be allowed to drive and operate heavy machine. I don’t know what it has cognitive effects as well. Serotonin effects. I didn’t be myself after after that. I lost sense of thinking. I’ve hurt people that I don’ t want to hurt the most. I’ve lost my chance to show that I care for them, that I want to be a part of them. I’ve lost them. The wound is very deep. I don’t even been given a chance. Thus, I accept the responsibility of the damage that I had done. Hurting the beloved ones is the least thing i would do. I thought I’ve improved myself during PMS and I won’t jeopardize my relationship anymore. I was wronged. Drug had ruined me.

I did research on serotonin effect and this is what I get. So please, if you’re on drug, explain about this to your family. Now I know why most of the cancer patients are called ‘cancer bitch’. I’ve ruined my chance and I hope you won’t ruined yours.

Signs and symptoms

Symptom onset is usually rapid, often occurring within minutes. Serotonin syndrome encompasses a wide range of clinical findings. Mild symptoms may only consist of increased heart rate, shivering, sweating, dilated pupils, myoclonus (intermittent tremor or twitching), as well as overresponsive reflexes.[1] Moderate intoxication includes additional abnormalities such as hyperactive bowel sounds, high blood pressure and hyperthermia; a temperature as high as 40 °C (104 °F) is common in moderate intoxication. The overactive reflexes and clonus in moderate cases may be greater in the lower limbs than in the upper limbs. Mental status changes include hypervigilance and agitation.[1] Severe symptoms include severe increases in heart rate and blood pressure that may lead to shock. Temperature may rise to above 41.1 °C (106.0 °F) in life-threatening cases. Other abnormalities include metabolic acidosis, rhabdomyolysis, seizures, renal failure, and disseminated intravascular coagulation; these effects usually arise as a consequence of hyperthermia.[1][3]

The symptoms are often described as a clinical triad of abnormalities:[1][5]

[edit] Pathophysiology

Serotonin is a neurotransmitter involved in multiple states including aggression, pain, sleep, appetite, anxiety, depression, migraine, and vomiting.[5] In humans the effects of serotonin excess were first noted in 1960 in patients receiving a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) and tryptophan.[6] The syndrome is caused by increased serotonin in the central nervous system.[1] It was originally suspected that agonism of 5-HT1A receptors in central grey nuclei and the medulla was responsible for the development of the syndrome.[7] Further study has determined that overstimulation of primarily the 5-HT2A receptors appears to contribute substantially to the condition.[7] The 5-HT1A receptor may still contribute through a pharmacodynamic interaction in which increased synaptic concentrations of a serotonin agonist saturate all receptor subtypes.[1] Additionally, noradrenergic CNS hyperactivity may play a role as CNS norepinephrine concentrations are increased in serotonin syndrome and levels appear to correlate with the clinical outcome. Other neurotransmitters may also play a role; NMDA receptor antagonists and GABA have been suggested as affecting the development of the syndrome.[1] Serotonin toxicity is more pronounced following supra-therapeutic doses and overdoses, and they merge in a continuum with the toxic effects of overdose.[8][9]

Early invitation

Honestly, I’m feeling stress doing the preparation for the wedding. There are million things to do, so little time. With tonnes of workload at school, how can I cope it? With loadsa help from some lovely people. That’s how I maintain my sanity. To this date, the card haven’t been printed. I want it to be printed before raya, so that I can give it to my sedara mara yang hanya datang rumah pada hari raya. Need to take their phone number as well, to remind them again in December. Anyways, this is a hint of wedding card. Continue reading

Viva versatility!

Today I did a routine work. Had to paste the sticker to RIMUP program book. The book has some errors. So, we had to ‘conceal’ it as if there wasn’t any mistake. Honestly, I hate a routine job. It’s darn boring. Even when I wakes up in the morning, I don’t do same routine. I’d try to do it in different ways. I don’t get up, take the towel and head straight to the toilet. I might brush my teeth first. Or boil the water. Or looking at the mirror. You know. I don’t have to do stuff in order.  I’m a person who loves variety. I’d like to experience how things done in different ways. Even at night I toss and turn. I don’t sleep with only one position!

I’m glad I’m a teacher in Malaysia who needs to do different job. I’m grateful to God that I am a person who only stick to one thing. I’m glad that God gives me bravery to discover new things every single day.

I’m glad that I don’t  have to work in a factory or anything similar!

Ejen Cinta

I finally really like Malay drama. It’s called ‘Ejen Cinta’. Every Wednesday night on Suria Channel. It’s a rom-com. It’s very witty and funny.

Emilia Idrus is a matchmaker. She herself was dumped, and because of the bad love experience, she is picky and be very careful in choosing a boyfriend. The 7th episode is the funniest when she was ‘angau’ (lovesick). Continue reading
