It’s not halal actually T_T

Last 2 weeks we went to Sushi King–to get Takoyaki. We were sitting at the sushi-conveyor-belt bar. They are having unagi promotion for the entire month of August. While waiting for the takoyaki, we grabbed some plates. One of it was Unagi Pirosiki. Super yummy. I asked my husband to taste it. He said he doesn’t like it at all. I feel frustrated. It was my first time liking an unagi sushi. Like, something excite my taste bud. A firework in my mouth and tummy.

Today, while doing baju raya hunting, I entered Sushi King again. Want to do take-away lah kononnya. The manager welcomed me and asked me politely “Yes ma’am, may I help you?”

“Er, can I do take-away?”
“Of course. What do you want?”
“I want to order one of your unagi which is on promotion”
“Er, actually it’s not halal”
My eyes enlarged twice than normal.
“We already put a notice when we realized they put in some alcohol during the process. It’s less than 0.05%”
I looked at the notice. It’s not Unagi Pirosiki. Maybe what she meant was the slices. Haish. Should be more alert next time.
Then I tapau okonomiyaki instead. T_T <--coverlah tu

Review: Teater Imam Al-Bukhari

For quite a long time, I haven’t watch any theater. Continue reading

Movie that I’m addicted to

We believe in destiny because we met because of the destiny.

If you haven’t watch “Slumdog millionaire”, I highly recommend that movie for you. It was inspired by a novel (Q & A by Vikas Swarup), produced using low budget. The actors are using British accent (with some mixture of Indian accent as well) and they are not A-list actors and actresses, mind you. They are from slums and nobody. But the movie have become a phenomenon in any cinema worldwide. This movie is discussed widely, because of its’ religious issues, poverty, romanticism and all. This movie is worth to be watched many times and in case you want to buy the original DVD or Blue-ray disc. I give three thumbs up for this movie! Continue reading

[Malay language entry]

Ramadhan kian usai.

Telekung fashion

Ramadhan has come back. Ahlan wa sahlan (welcome). So does telekung. One can see women wearing it usually after dawn. They will wear it to go to mosque for isya’ and tarawih prayer.ย  I used to have cotton telekung but nowadays, textile technology has produced sunwashed fabric, which is much lighter, easy to clean and pretty opaque (when I used cotton telekung, I have to wear something inside or the telekung must be layered).

During the pilgrimage (hajj) season hajj pilgrimage , telekung is the garment that sets Asia Pacific women apart from the other women. It’s almost similar to Afghan’s burqa, but different in terms of its cut and design. Telekung comes in white, carries the angelic, purity and obedience image.

It can also be a gift from the groom to the bride (hantaran) which symbolically send the message, “be a good servant of Allah and a faithful wife”. It is usually chosen as a gift because it is easily decorated and at times, it can be creatively made into the shape of a flower, or a hand-held fan.

Finale Akademi Al Quran Musim 3

Aku fikir aku tak mampu pergi kerana kepala aku pening (garaยฒ hall cinema yang sangat kosong jadi cuaca menjadi terlalu sejuk, dan aku pun pening kepala).

Ehehehe.

Pictures? later Insya Allah~ ๐Ÿ˜›

Quran geek

Mak selalu suruh saya belajar tajwid supaya bacaan saya betul. Hee.

Kenapa Quran geek? Penggabungan Quran dan teknologi akan memudahkan orang-orang seperti saya (baca: geek) belajar tatabahasa Al Quran. Ada suara kecil bertanya “buat apa nak belajar tajwid Quran? reti baca cukup la”.

I am muslim too!

Hey people. Zan Azlee sent me a facebook message and he is bugging people around to watch his film. What? When? Where?

Iโ€™m Muslim Too!
Malaysia, 2008; Zan Azlee, 73 mins

Zan Azlee decides to learn and find out more about Islam and his own identity as a Malay Muslim. He embarks on a journey to the heartland of Islam, the Middle-East, with nothing but his video camera and a bag full of instant noodles. He meets a brutal heavy metal band in Iran, discovers a Syrian version of Low Yat Plaza in Damascus, hangs out with a couple of Palestinian dudes in a camp in Beirut and learns about sex from a bunch of artists in Jordan.

Zan will be in attendance to discuss his film with the audience after the screening.

ESQ: A new life

Many successful CEOs, executive managers, businessman, etc took ESQ course and change their life. ESQ (Emotional Spiritual Quotient) is not a new thing. It’s just that we’ve forgotten about it. It’s already been created 1400 years ago. ESQ is for everyone and it takes place globally. Regardless what religion you are. ESQ is a new way of life. Imagine how great these people. They even gave talk to the professors at Oxford University. (And there are numerous fascinating numbers and statistics being shown yesterday but I failed to stuff my head with everything–I’m just a weak human ๐Ÿ™ ). The numbers of alumni members simply is getting bigger, globally. Their alumni members is not common people. Like I said, businessman, rich and famous intelligent people. The company who wants to do staff training and improve human resources send the staffs to ESQ talks. And I’m not talking crap. There are thousands people gave good testimonial about ESQ and probably now the number have reached millions.

ESQ is the new trend (Among elites and rich people for this time being). Why do we need ESQ? We only realise this when at the end of the day, we don’t know why we accumulate our properties, dollars and so forth. We only realise the need of ESQ in our life, then there are many intelligent people give up easily as they do not know what’s the purpose they are being created.

A glimpse from yesterday’s presentation: The Golden Gate Bridge in the US, is world’s finest architecture, but on January 2008, Mr. Arry went there and tell us the tragic story of the bridge. The numbers of suicide was being kept from the public, however, as the numbers reached 10K, the government decided to put high fence, to prevent people from jumping from the Golden Gate. Counselling line was also being placed on the bridge, hoping to give hope for losers (I call them losers because they quit from life). It’s no longer be the symbol of the greatness of United States. They are considered successful nation, but how many lead life peacefully and happily?

suicide

Yesterday, IPBA had ESQ preview and I don’t have to pay for it. I was so excited to come because I know it costs me 1K++ if I want to join it. (I was interested with ESQ since I watched the videos in Plymouth). So yeah, Mr Firdaus Djambri, gave talk and he is funny. Probably due to language differences (Malaysian Malay language and Indonesia’s), there are some stuffs that people don’t understand. But yeah, thanks to my exposure to Indonesian sinetron and movies, his jokes are understandable. Oh, did I tell you he’s cute? His Indonesian accent as well. Never heard such enthusiastic talk, for 22 years. He doesn’t give up although the crowd shows boring faces.

But what I had yesterday was only a glimpse of it (ESQ preview). Just a sneek peek and to know how great it is, is to taste it. So people, I highly encourage you to go to ESQ talks and experience a better life after that. May Allah bless the efforts of ESQ trainers and Insya Allah, we can make this world a better place and lead a peaceful life in this world and hereafter.

So tomorrow (16 Feb) they are going to conduct a session for university students and they give a very very good offer. You only pay RM 550 once and you can join the alumni and attend the talks as many as you want for the rest of your life. Wow. Very attempting offer but not for this time being ๐Ÿ™
