Short trip to Singapore, a cheapskate version

Dah lama ngidam nak naik bas ke Singapore. Last time buat sebelum kahwin. So this time around hanya me and hubby je yg pergi. Saje mnk prektis nnt nak pergi haji kena jalan jauh kan.

So we went with jb Singapore express way bus and it brought us to Queen Street. The bus fare was RM3.30 per person. The time gap was half an hour for each bus.

We departed from platform 24 at Larkin  terminal around 1130am. We reached Singapore around 1230. Then we walked a few minutes and reached Arab Street. I had craving for nasi beriani at Zam Zam restaurant at Arab Street which is a few minutes walk from Queen Street. I had beef beriani, murtabak rusa (venison) and teh tarik. My dream came true. Alhamdulillah.

There were so many people waiting for their food. This is the most crowded indian muslim restaurant in Singapore even though they recently open air conditioned area on first floor of the building. We waited for half an hour for the food. Whew!

Then we proceeded to Masjid Sultan. One of the oldest historical buildings in Singapore. Last time when I went there, it was quite poorly maintained. Now there is an area for the mosque history and hiw islam came to Singapore. Not just an exhibition. The mosque has a friendly staff who can explain about the exhibition. It was crowded. I prayed at the muslimah area and they have lcd screen if there is any live khutbah or lecture there.

I saw an Indonesian praying cloth that I saw on sinetron. Haha. Of course I tried it on. So pure and innocent kan? Kahkahkah.

After zohor we walked about 10 minutes to Bugis Street. My impression was “I wish I’m size 0” banyak baju lelawa kot tapi semua sesuai dipakai kalau size 0. Takpelah dik. Akak pakai t shirt muslimah je lah. Abang tak suka akak pakai ketat2 ni. Panas nanti kat neraka katanya. Huhuh. Insaf.

I was aiming for a watch. Sini lg lawa dr JPO. And cheaper. Mine yg beli kat jpo tu kejap je pakai, udah haup. Cost? $10.00. Penat jalan cari jam, beli air asam boi $1.00.

Dah dapat jam kena la balik. So we headed back to Queen Street and paid $2.50 each for a bus ride to JB Larkin. Took us about an hour and a half to get back sbb bas ke Larkin tak frequent mcm bas bandar.

So itulah short trip nya. Didn’t ride MRT and walk a lot. Till then.
